Each perfect little bell, with a delicate ruffle at the bottom, like a gaggle of young girls clustered tight at their first ball... Grape Hyacinths are a springtime favorite of mine, here rendered in a variety of handwoven motifs by Greentree Weaving, with vintage French lace sourced by Maison Bleu Lin as the finishing touch. A handfull of small silk critters beginning their season are also attracted: a bee and a tiny butterfly of vintage sari embroidery, a reaching inchworm, a scarlet ladybug with hand-knotted spots, and silver silk damask snail. All on a ground of sky blue handwoven.
The cover is stabilized inside with green striped shirting and backed with a springy blues-on-cream thrifted corduroy print. The cushion interior is stuffed with scraps and threads from my work bench. The pillow is built with corner tabs and a velcro closure so the cushion stays in nicely but can be removed easily to launder..
This cheerful Pillow measures approximately 14"wide by 17" when flat.
