On a base of shifting weft variations of the Bare Limbs motif, hand woven by Greentree Weaving, the autumn colors already shine through. The textural trunk of a forest tree is made of Gray Agate motif, by my own technique, and serves as the framework for the drifting leaves, each machine embroidered with veining to give them texture, in a vivid array of warm, cheerful motifs: Canyon, Sunflower, Kestrel, Autumn Leaves...
This sweet pillow measures approximately 14" by 21" when flat, and comes with the inner cushion, made of a remnant of cotton fabric and filled with 100% cotton scraps from my cutting table. The cover is reinforced inside with thrifted cotton shirt fabric and has velcro closure with corner tabs so the cushion stays in nicely, but can be removed easily to launder.
Autumn Leaves PILLOW
As the material is 100% preshrunk, laundering is easy, should it become necessary. Remove the inner cushion and turn the cover inside out. Machine wash warm and tumble dry on gentle, or line dry. The inner cushion can be laundered this way as well, though thorough drying is very important.
