Steep, stark canyon cliffs rise on one side, with cedar and yucca growing tenaciously in improbable crannies, and ranges of mountains disappear to the horizon on the other, meeting at the river below, inhabited by hares, horses, hummingbirds, and hawks, amongst many others which only the sharpest, stillest eye can catch. Modeled on my memories of the stunning drive through the Salt River Canyon in Arizona.
On thrifted brown corduroy, with bright handwoven Autumn Leaves backing (motif by Greentree Weaving), this is my own original design embroidered free hand in bronze colored thread on my straight stitch sewing machine: there are two layers of recycled blue jean inside for extra protection for hands and tables. This sturdy potholder measures apporximately 8" wide x 10".
