The owl in the aspen tree doesn't need moonlight to watch the night life amidst the drifting leaves, but the small creatures such as mouse, snail, and cricket are glad of  the rising super moon supplementing the stars' luminescence as they cautiously navigate their nocturnal world.

On a thrifted olive green corduroy, with handwoven cotton chenille Toasted Sunflower (motif by Greentree Weaving) backing, embroidered free hand in ochre thread on my straight stich sewing machine:  there are two layers of recycled blue jean inside for extra protection for hands and tables.  This sturdy potholder measures apporximately 8 1/2" wide x 9-11" tall.
