Musings of Springtime, of the brave Strawberry plants who are often the first to green up and bloom, nestled in autumn's bed of leaves (and the last, still blooming even after the first light frosts of fall), quickly joined by crocuses and grape hyacinths (one of my favorites). Encouraged by the strawberries' confidence, the little creatures begin stirring: inchworms and snails, moths and ladybugs, rolly pollies and mice. The birds, having been there all along, now divide their energy between food and nest building, eagerly gathering dry grasses and such.
Based on handwoven New Leaf motif by Greentree Weaving and backed with thrifted corduroy, with two layers of repurposed blue jean for sturdy durability. This original design is free hand embroidered on my straight-stitch industrial sewing machine, a few details are often hand embroidered, such as eyes and mouse whiskers... This potholder measures 8" x 8 1/2".
